Stoked for the Summer
The Bouncing Souls are back with a new album and a pair of Asbury Park shows this week. They're bringing some amazing friends. That's not all that's happening, though.
On Thursday, The Anchor's Bend continues their free Jams on the Sand series with Pimps of Joytime. The Off White head to Brooklyn's Cobra Club for a show with Ted's Dead and Sea Ghost. Our friends C.R. and The Degenerates play Stanhope House with Rosie Bengal, Joseph Henry, and Francie Moon opening for James Abbot.
Thursday is also the first of two Stoked for the Summer evenings with The Bouncing Souls. This one is inside The Stone Pony and consists of, basically, a CoolDad dream bill by including Beach Slang and Cayetana. Tickets are still available, I think.
On Friday night, Daikaiju and Black Flamingos play the beach stage at Anchor's Bend for free. Accidental Seabirds and Warbler's Roost are at The Asbury. Also free. Ribeye Brothers, Holmes, and Experiment 34 play the boardwalk at APYC. Dentist head to Montclair's Old Mogul Theatre to play with We're Ghosts Now, Super American, and Glass Cow. Paper Streets play a late show at The Saint with The North American and Laketon. John Eddie plays Wonder Bar.
Friday brings Night 2 of Stoked for the Summer outside to The Stone Pony Summer Stage. In addition to The Bouncing Souls, the show also features the long-awaited Asbury Park return of Rocket From The Crypt along with The Flatliners, The Explosion, and Creeper.
On Saturday, The Off White and GayGuy / StraightGuy hit the Asbury Hotel. The Paper Jets, Rose Boulevard, Jesse Elliot and more are part of the Fire Fest benefit at Court Tavern in New Brunswick. The free Soulsational Music and Wellness Festival comes back to Bayville with tons of local music including Accidental Seabirds, The Shady Street Show Band, Foxanne, Avery Mandeville, and more. Quality Living, who premiered a song with us a couple of weeks ago, hold their release show at Hansil's in Oakland, NJ with LKFFCT, Adam and The Plants, Delicate Flowers, and Fortune Yeller. Waiting On Mongo play The Saint. Black Wine are back with a show at Volume IV in Bruns with Söft Dov, Laces Out, and Risk Relay. Colton Kayser holds the release party for his Place to Settle at Wonder Bar with help from Lowlight, Cold Weather Company, We're Ghosts Now, and Cranston Dean.
Sunday features Have A Good Season, Teenage Halloween, Corrina Corrina, Toy Cars, and Hole In The Earth at "The Barn" in Red Bank. Foxanne, Above The Moon, Atlas Bloom, and Toxic Moxie play a free show at New Brunswick's Scarlet Pub.
