New Single from Dentist

"The Latter"

You've missed Dentist, haven't you? I know I have. They went off to Canada for a monthlong tour; and, then, an overabundance of rainwater forced the cancellation of their homecoming show at Asbury Park Yacht Club. Well, while you were pining, the band were hard at work recording a new single. Today, Dentist kick off your holiday weekend with new song, "The Latter."

"The Latter" has been part of Dentist's live set for a while now; but, as of today, it has a title and a proper studio recording handled by our friend Andy Bova over at Simple Sound Studio. It shows off Dentist's ability to contrast Justin Bornemann's sometimes aggressive guitar with Emily Bornemann's dreamy and forlorn vocals. It also happens to be the last recording the band did with their former rhythm section of Rudy Meier (drums) and Nick Kaelblein (bass).

The new-look Dentist are still going strong and have a few shows lined up in the coming weeks. They'll be playing a Northside Festival showcase at Brooklyn's Lantern Hall on June 8th with Jody Porter and The Berlin Waltz. Then, on June 19th, Dentist will be playing the CoolDad Music-presented edition of Happy Mondays with Overlake and Philadelphia's Psychic Teens at Asbury Park's Wonder Bar.

Check out "The Latter" and have a great weekend.
