It's the unofficial start of summer; and, while it looks like the weather isn't going to cooperate to make it a beach weekend, there are still plenty of great shows. It's also the anniversary of the day CoolMom and I tied the knot this weekend, so there will be lots of celebrating here at CDMHQ.

On Thursday, Spowder, Fond Han, Eagle Daddy, and TWIIN play Philadelphia's Eris Temple. House of Independents in Asbury hosts Hinder and Nonpoint. Levy & The Oaks hold an EP release party at Langosta with Natalie Farrell. Hot Blood bring Mat Kiley and his bionic ankle to Trenton for a stacked bill at Millhill Basement featuring Doc Hopper, Honah Lee, Nervous Triggers, Blackwolf Beach, and 96 Ghosts. Hey Anna and Girltown are at Pet Shop JC in JC. Ribeye Brothers play Porta National Park in AP.

Yacht Rock Night with DJ Atom Worth returns to APYC on Friday. The Chubby Pickle in Highlands has Cranston Dean and Rachel Ana Dobken, both going full-band. Overlake, Lowlight, The Penniless Loafers, and Foxanne are at JC Underground for a party to support Planned Parenthood. Montclair's Meatlocker is back with a show from Sunflower and Dutchguts. Piebald play Wonder Bar.

prim, Grayling, Beach Bod, Have A Good Season, and Jeff Lane (solo) are at Asbury Park Music Foundation on Saturday. Little Steven and The Disciples Of Soul play The Count Basie in Red Bank. Old Franklin Schoolhouse in Metuchen holds a benefit for St. Luke's Children's Hospital featuring Renee Maskin, Brian Erick, and more. Renee does double duty that evening, heading over to Pino's in Highland Park where her band, Lowlight, play with Noordzo. Kiefer Sutherland brings his band back to The Stone Pony. We're Ghosts Now and Ruby Bones play The Studio at Webster Hall with Call Security and Wayward City.

The Ribeye Brothers' world tour continues at Red Bank's Dublin House on Sunday. Remember Jones play a free show at Langosta. The Bunks hold an EP release at The Saint with Deaf Rhino, Little Bear, and Ernest. The Orwells return to Asbury Park with a show at Wonder Bar.

Memorial Day features Des & The Swagmatics at Wonder Bar for the resurrected Happy Mondays series along with Secret Sound and Tash Even & Kyle. String Bean and his Boardwalk Social Club are at Langosta all night.
