What's Going On: 11/2, 11/3, 11/4 & 11/5, 2017

CoolDad Music Presents: The Brixton Riot, Dentist, The RockNRoll HiFives at APYC on Friday.

Close Counts

Hope you've been enjoying the spoils of trick or treating in moderation. Wouldn't want you to get a bellyache or any cavities with so much good stuff on tap for this weekend.

Our friends Fruit & Flowers kick off yet another tour on Thursday at Brooklyn's Cape House when they play with IYEZ, Garbage Greek, and Pink Mexico. Black Flamingos head up to Monty Hall in Jersey City to play with The Woggles. Also in Jersey City, Crazy & The Brains play Pet Shop with Dead Bars, Rebuilder, and Hermano Stereo. Flogging Molly, Anti-Flag, and Jon Snodgrass are at Starland.

Gringo Motel play a free show at Anchor's Bend on Friday. Des & The Swagmatics are at Langosta. The Barrbarians, LEEDS, and The Mercury Brothers are in the basement at Bond in Asbury. Hodera celebrate their latest release at Brighton Bar in Long Branch with Save Face, Secret Stuff, and Halogens. Bobby Mahoney and The Seventh Son play Asbury's Stone Pony with lots of friends including Matty Carlock, Creating Clementine, and more. Well Wisher are at Clash Bar in Clifton with Match Party, Alanna & Mike, and The Accelerators. This weekend's International POP Overthrow kicks off at The Vault at Victor Records in Berlin, NJ. Millhill Basement in Trenton has Molly Rhythm, Boss' Daughter, John Underwood, and Bern and The Bastards.

Also on Friday night, CoolDad Music presents the release show for The Brixton Riot's excellent new album, Close Counts, at Asbury Park Yacht Club. Joining The Brixton Riot on that bill are our good buddies in Dentist and The RockNRoll HiFives. It's going to be a great night of loud music, confetti, and lots of friends. Plus, it's free.

On Saturday afternoon, Avery and The Man Devils are at Transparent Clinch in Asbury to help celebrate Rachel Ana Dobken's birthday. Saint James & The Apostles are at APYC with Daniel James and The Loveless. BOYTOY play Brooklyn's Gateway with Exhibition, Native Sun, and Gnarcissists. Scotland's Pinact headline Millhill Basement where they're joined by Brackish, Groomers, and Erotic Novels. High Waisted are back home from tour and playing Rough Trade NYC with Hundred Hounds, Beechwood, and The Coax. Trophy Scars, Will Wood & The Tapeworms, and Asbury's latewaves play White Eagle Hall.

Little Dickman Records bring another great show to The Saint on Saturday with L.A. Witch, Honduras, Pink Mexico, and Lyons. Great touring bands plus one of our favorite Asbury bands only minutes from home? Hard to beat.

The Breeders play a sold-out show at Bowery Ballroom with Ohio's fantastic Vacation on Sunday. Black 47's Larry Kirwan plays an early show at The Saint. Waxahatchee and Ought are at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City.

Have fun this weekend. Come say hi at Asbury Park Yacht Club on Friday. Don't drink and drive.
