I Like This New Song From Beverly

"Honey Do"

As a work from home dad whose wife commutes to NYC, I often get the question, "So have you got a long 'Honey Do' list?" The truth is, I've just got a long list of stuff that I should do but never seem to get around to, whether it's assigned to me by CoolMom or not.

Anyway, this track from Beverly, project of Drew Citron and Frankie Rose, has been making the rounds today. "Honey Do" is just the kind of fuzzy, noisy pop that I always seem to enjoy. It doesn't hurt that Frankie Rose has such a knack for crafting infectious pop songs, and the break in the noise that comes each time Citron sings the title phrase is a tiny stroke of brilliance.

The track will appear on Kanine Records vinyl-only Record Store Day 2014 release, Non Violent Femmes, which will feature tracks from several up-and-coming female-fronted bands. It will also appear on Beverly's forthcoming debut LP, also on Kanine.
