Pics of Chemtrail and Dollys at The Saint, 3/1/14

I Said I Wasn't Taking Pictures

After taking so many pictures of Gay Guy / Straight Guy on Saturday night, I kind of resigned myself to the fact that I'd be taking shots for the rest of the night. That's okay. I still need the practice, and the two bands that closed out the evening provided great subjects.

Chemtrail were the evening's headliners and filled The Saint with their ambient, instrumental post-rock. At times employing three guitars, the Asbury Park five-piece played a set in which one piece of music flowed seamlessly into the next. The band's former bass player, J. Maggio, was in town for the rescheduled set and, at one point, joined Chemtrail onstage.

Closing out the evening were New Brunswick's Dollys. Those who stayed for the late set were treated to the band's sparkling power-pop-punk and yet another dynamic drummer / vocalist in Natalie Newbold.

Here are some highlights of the final two sets; and, as always, you can see the larger sets by clicking on the "Galleries" tab.
