New Single from where is my spaceship

"nothing / no one / no distinction"

Back in February of 2015, Hackensack's where is my spaceship absolutely blew me way with LP mostly crocodile. Since then, the project of Josh Evensen has been releasing new material every few months to coincide, mostly, with major holidays -- Christmas, Halloween, the Super Bowl. where is my spaceship's Super Bowl single, "i wanna be tim tebow," was the first off of the upcoming follow-up to mostly crocodile, DIEFAILING. Earlier this week, Evensen gave us the second taste of that LP in the form of "nothing / no one / no distinction."

In keeping with the recurring where is my spaceship themes of squandered potential and a general sense of dissatisfaction, "nothing / no one / no distinction" contains lines like "30 is the new 17" and "you could've got that job / you could have kept that girl / you could have won that fight / you could have buckled down." So many "could haves" that make up a life.

Anyway...

Evensen worked with Kevin McMahon (Titus Andronicus, Diarrhea Planet, Laura Stevenson, Real Estate) at McMahon's Marcata Studios in Upstate New York on DIEFAILING, and there are hints here of the anthemic punk rock associated with some of McMahon's other collaborators. After a big opening that features Evensen's guitar and some crashing drums from Matt Olsson, the song quiets to a slow build toward an explosive ending.

"nothing / no one / no distinction" is available over at where is my spaceship's Bandcamp page. Keep your eyes peeled for more info, including release details, on DIEFAILING.
