It's already been a pretty busy week of shows since we flipped the calendar over to 2016. This weekend keeps that up with lots of fun stuff including the Sniffling Indie Kids / CoolDad Music Winter Formal at The Saint. We'll get to that in a minute. First, to Thursday.
The Brighton has Hand of Weed, This That & The Other, and Royal Blend. Montclair's new Old Mogul Theatre features Forever Losing Sleep, Arrows In Her, Country Drop, and Sistine. Our friends in ROMP continue their tour when they hit Brooklyn's Palisades with Joy Again, Dark Tones, and Glueboy. Paper Streets also head to Brooklyn for a show with Pinegrove, Vundabar, and Washer at Shea.
On Friday night, things will get pretty crazy at APYC when Hot Blood make their return along with Hammer Fight. Orgy, Bobaflex, Death Valley High, End Of An Era, Gravity Well, and Brand of Julez are at Brighton Bar. Those Mockingbirds play Mexicali Live in Teaneck with A Balance Between, Super Snake, and Reese Van Riper. Splintered Sunlight are at The Pony. Wonder Bar's got White Collar Crime and AciD.
Also on Friday, Sniffling Indie Kids and CoolDad Music present the Indie Pop Winter Formal at The Saint. It features our friends in Dentist, dollys, YJY, and Paper Streets. Do your own version of getting dressed up, and come out to dance with some of our favorite bands. I think I may wear a bow tie.
Shady Street Show Band play APYC for free on Saturday. Night Birds, Cut It Out!, The Mad Splatter, and Nervous Triggers are at Atlantic City's Boneyard. Halogens are in Westfield with Corrina, Corrina, Save Face, Dutch Boys, Semiotics, and Grin & Bear. Blowup Radio's Guitar Pull happens at Espresso Joe's in Keyport with Rob Jennings, Blisstique, Keith Beck, and The Wailing Kids. Screaming Headless Torsos are at The Saint. Tramps Like Us play Wonder Bar.
Sunday sees Bounders, Denizens Of Soil, Strange Kids, and Phulton at The Saint. Man Dancing, Sad Lips, Foxanne, Fun While You Wait, and Tula Vera play for free at Scarlet Pub in Bruns. Light of Day gets going at The Stone Pony with "Cover Me," featuring the best of Jersey Shore bar bands.
