Just a quick note to acknowledge that my favorite song of the year so far has a new video. Superchunk, Katie Crutchfield, Stephin Merritt. Brilliant lines like "Our empathy weaponized" or "We're the weeds and you need a path mowed clear for you." This song is a masterpiece. And the video -- directed by Whitey McConnaughy -- is great, too.
Superchunk's great and important What a Time to Be Alive is out now on Merge.
The band play Jersey City's White Eagle Hall on 6/20.
