Second Single from Reasons To Live

Hilly Eye, the "two-piece psychedelic noise pop band" consisting of former Titus Andronicus guitarist Amy Klein and drummer Catherine Tung, premiered the second single from their upcoming debut LP over at Stereogum yesterday.

The song is definitely a grower.  From its melodic vocals over 90's indie rock guitar beginning, "Jersey City" grows to a riot grrrlish climax.  And after repeated listens over the last twenty-four hours or so, the song has grown into something I can't get out of my head.

Reasons to Live comes out via Don Giovanni on January 22nd, and Hilly Eye will be celebrating its release with a January 26th show at Glasslands.

Amy Klein Has a New Band

Leda Premieres Two Tracks

Former Titus Andronicus guitarist and New Jersey native, Amy Klein, has a new band called Leda.  Described by Klein on her tumblr as a "five-piece rock and roll orchestra," the band released two, new tracks today.

I've been a little sad about never getting a chance to see the Amy Klein version of Titus Andronicus live, but she's obviously kept busy.  I'll be interested to hear more from Leda.

X-Ray Spex Cover:  "Oh Bondage! Up Yours!"

Over at The NJ Underground, there's a link to Titus Andronicus's contribution to an X-Ray Spex tribute compilation called Rebel on the Underground.  Former TA guitarist and prolific blogger, Amy Klein, takes lead vocals on the New Jersey band's cover of "Oh Bondage! Up Yours!" and does a fine English accent.

Rebel on the Underground is a product of the Klein-founded Permanent Wave "network of feminist artists and activists."

Proceeds from purchases of the compilation go to benefit the Sweet Relief Musicians' Fund.
