Courtyards

Trenton 5-piece, Good Luck Spaceman, premiered the video for their single "Headroom" over at Speak Into My Good Eye last week. The song is the first track from Courtyards, which the band will be releasing via Rat Brain Records on May 19th. You lucky folks can stream the whole of Courtyards right here, right now.

As I listen to Courtyards, I get hints of psychedelia, power pop, and early-aughts indie rock (like the great and underrated Scottish band, Idlewild). From the atmospheric pop of "Headroom" and "Autobiography of Red" to the frantic "Technicolor" to acoustic closer "Basement Windows," Good Luck Spaceman cover a lot of ground on Courtyards. According to the band, though, "The theme stays consistent all the way through... ...the title itself is a metaphor for how seemingly small moments in time can be isolated from the larger timeline of your life."

Good Luck Spaceman are heading out on a tour which kicks off at The Saint in Asbury Park on May 19th. Joining them on that bill are Ehiorobo, Cranston Dean Band, and OFFTOP. You should be able to hit them up for a cassette at the show. Courtyards will also see release on CD and USB stick.

Stream Courtyards and check out the rest of Good Luck Spaceman's tour dates below.
