Mini Documentary on Asbury Lanes, Featuring the Music of Dentist

The Happiest Place on Earth?

When I took my buddy to the Screaming Females / Waxahatchee / Tenement / Kicking Spit show at Asbury Lanes back in September, he was blown away. He was blown away not only by the show, but also by Asbury Lanes itself. It's one of the most distinctive music venues in the very distinctive Asbury Park; and for the last year or so, it's been kind of a home away from home for me.

This four-or-so minute, mini documentary by Jacob Vernick captures the vibe of the place where I've spent many an evening playing trivia (relocated to Bradley Beach's Ground Round) or watching some of the best rock shows I've ever seen. It gives some hope that we could be in for, maybe, two more years of a place that's been facing eminent domain for some time. On top of all of that, it features music and observations from one of my favorite bands to see at Asbury Lanes (or anywhere), Dentist.

So have a look, and maybe I'll see you at a show.
