Record Release Shows from Accidental Seabirds, The Clydes. Light of Day Begins.
Another big weekend for local music. Accidental Seabirds are holding the release party for their next LP, The Greenpoint Spill, tonight at Asbury Lanes. The video above shows the lengths to which the band have gone to provide attendees with a memento -- in the form of a hand-packaged copy of the CD -- of the show. Saturday is also packed, featuring shows that include Underwater Country Club, The Black Jesuses, and The Ribeye Brothers.
I also included Sunday in this week's listings for a few reasons. First, I wanted to call your attention to the release show for The Clydes' excellent EP, Generator, over at The Saint on Sunday night. Second, Light of Day 2014 is starting at The Stone Pony with a full day of New Jersey cover bands. The Mischief Kids bring their hip-hop hardcore to The Court Tavern, and there's also a pretty good show at the Lanes with Martha's Vineyard Ferries, Red Bank's Eastern Anchors, and more.
And it's my birthday on Monday, so come find me this weekend. I'll buy you a beverage.
