This Weekend Has a Big One
This is pre-Spring Break weekend for us here at CoolDad Music HQ. We leave early, early Sunday morning for Albuquerque, NM and a visit with the in-laws. I plan on enjoying quite a bit of red and green chile and taking a self-guided driving tour of prominent Breaking Bad landmarks.
Before we leave, though, there are some excellent things set to happen locally. Tonight, the "Taste of Nashville Tour" makes a stop at Asbury Lanes; while Sound Waves has three bands for free at Asbury Park Yacht Club.
The Lanes will be hosting an Asbury ComicCon opening night party tomorrow night. Smalltalk is at Asbury Park Yacht Club, and Xenia Sky has an EP release at The Saint.
Saturday night is a night that I've been looking forward to for some time. Punk legend Kathleen Hanna brings her Julie Ruin to Asbury Lanes with support from Screaming Females and Shellshag. The show is sold out, but I got in on it early. If you're shut out of that one, The Court Tavern in New Brunswick has an excellent bill featuring Modern Chemistry, France, The Sound Is Fine, Monterey, and Dollys.
I'm planning on being exhausted but satisfied when we head to the airport on Sunday morning. Enjoy the weekend.
