Court Tavern Is Gonna Be Packed

Hey. Just remember to hug your kids, kiss your significant other, tell your mom, dad, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, grandma, grandpa, best friend... ...whoever... that you love them. Today and every day.

Kind of sad news this week as Sound Waves have announced that they'll no longer be booking their Thursday night free shows at Asbury Park Yacht Club. I guess we'll have to see what moves in to fill the void. There are still some Thursday options this week. The Dollyrots bring their pop punk to The Brighton. The Saint has Twiddle and Blendmode. The big show, though, is the Red Bull Sound Series show at The Court Tavern featuring The Bouncing Souls, The Scandals, and Tacocat. An RSVP gets you the opportunity to pay just $3 (instead of $10), but you'll have to get there early as it's a first come, first serve kind of thing. I'll be at Bowery Ballroom for Bob Mould and Cymbals Eat Guitars.

The Weeks come back to Asbury Lanes on Friday with Brave Baby. Diana Chittester plays for free at Langosta. John Eddie is at The Wonder Bar.

Saturday brings The Legendary Shack Shakers to Asbury Lanes. Bone & Marrow (Daimon & Jen, formerly of Elevator Art) and Glycerine Queens play for free at APYC. Terry Bozzio and his giant drum kit play an afternoon show at The Saint. ~~Up in Rahway, The Rahway Bands and Brews Fest features locals GayGuy / StraightGuy along with Devi, Modern Chemistry, The Ugly Club, and more.~~ The Battery Electric play Brighton Bar for Zipperhead Productions along with Rory Kelly, Champagne Black, and The Dirty Stayouts. Pretty sure that Hot Blood is also playing 10th Avenue Burrito as a power trio with Barry and The Penetrators. I'll update you with the details.

Sunday is kind of quiet, but you've got The Asbury Park Punk Rock Flea Market at Convention Hall and some hard rock from Toothgrinder over at The Saint. You can head up to Brooklyn to catch the full Hot Blood lineup at Spike Hill. Up in Rahway, The Rahway Bands and Brews Fest features locals GayGuy / StraightGuy along with Devi, Modern Chemistry, The Ugly Club, and more.
