What's Going On: 10/9, 10/10, 10/11 & 10/12, 2014

Y'know. There's just too much stuff for a collage this week. So here's a picture of Full of Fancy who are playing their for realz final three shows ever this weekend.

So Full of Fancy

You already know. Well, you will after reading this, anyway.

I'm a very lazy person by nature. This is one of those weeks when I almost -- almost -- decided to skip the listings. There is just too much happening for a lazy person like me to list out. And I know I missed some stuff, and I'm gonna get messages and comments with things I need to add. It's precisely because there's so much stuff happening, though, that it's nice -- even for me -- to have it all in one place. So...

Things get started Thursday night with your first of THREE opportunities to catch Full of Fancy for the last time ever. And they mean it this time. I saw their last last-ever show, and it was great. They'll be playing Cooler Ranch in New Brunswick with Aussie / English indie poppers Allo Darlin' and Glazer. Pat DiNizio of The Smithereens brings his "Confessions of a Rock Star" to a weekly residency at Langosta. It's free and features Arlan Feiles this week and our friend Chris Brown opening this week next month. Scars on 45 are at The Saint with Emily Grove.

OK. Friday. Now Friday is pretty packed. Instrumental soul juggernaut and Daptone recording artists The Budos Band make a stop at Asbury Lanes. Amy Malkoff plays for free at APYC. gods and Spinal Ramones play for free at Langosta. Artemis Pyle of Lynyrd Skynyrd plays The Brighton. Our buddies in Lost Romance are part of a bill for CBGB Fest at The Pyramid Club in Manhattan. The Strumbellas are at The Saint with Colton Kayser and Blisstique.

Friday also features the big, big show presented by The Clef at Red Bank Rehearsal Studios: Mikey Erg, Shellshag, Full of Fancy (almost your last chance), Slingshot Dakota, The Battery Electric, Hot Blood, Corrina Corrina, Have a Good Season, The Uncommonly Good, uh... ...Conover, Pulling Punches, Teenage Halloween,... ...and more.

No let up on Saturday as Musicians on a Mission present Rock The Farm in Farmingdale with the likes of Emily Grove, Karmic Juggernaut, Harper's Fellow, Frank Lombardi, Artemis Pyle, Vini Lopez, and Tara Elliott in an all-day, family-friendly event. Ruby The Hatchet play for free at APYC. The Amboys are at Langosta. The Saint has a slate of three shows. NJ emo legends Lifetime are at The Stone pony with Lemuria, Mouthpiece, and Spraynard. Joan Jett and The Blackhearts are at The Basie. Little Dickman Records bring some great bands to Left Field in NYC as The Battery Electric, Hot Blood, The Off White, Ms. America, and Acid play CBGB Fest. And it's your for real this time last chance to see Full of Fancy when they open for The Muffs at Asbury Lanes along with brick mower.

breathe...

Finally, Sunday. It's the season premiere of AMC's The Walking Dead. Kevin Devine comes to Asbury Lanes with help from The Vansaders' Doug Zambon and EdTang. Chris Rockwell and The Stickball Social Club host their record release show at The Stone Pony with help from Deff Ray, Paris Under Fire, The Hive Mind, and J. Sales.

So, really. I think you're covered musically this weekend. See you maybe at one of the Full of Fancy shows.
