Photo Highlights of The Drive Home, Lazyeyes, and Overlake at The Saint, 4/20/15

Brooklyn's Lazyeyes kicked off their tour in Asbury Park at The Saint on Monday.

Monday Noise

Brooklyn shoegaze / dream pop four-piece, Lazyeyes, brought their chiming and intertwining guitar sounds down to Asbury Park on Monday night to kick off their upcoming tour. They were joined on the bill by The Drive Home, now an all-male trio, and Jersey City's Overlake.

Playing just their second show in their current incarnation, The Drive Home kicked things off with some re-tooled songs and a high degree of energy. Lazyeyes delivered on the sounds I had on repeat all day as I got ready for the show. Think of the vaguely beachy, bell-like guitar tones of a band like Beach Fossils and you're pretty close to where Lazyeyes are coming from. Never one to miss a chance to catch Overlake, I headed out specifically to see them; and, even though the crowd was small, they filled the room with their beautiful noise. And I got to catch a couple of other great sets in the bargain.

Here are some highlights of all three performances. Full sets from the evening are in the Flickr galleries.
