Show Preview: Koa, The Overgrowns, Gender Studies at The Saint TONIGHT

Nashville's Koa are part of an eclectic bill tonight at The Saint.

New Stuff Tuesday

I've been running around a bit today, but I did want to call your attention to an interesting bill happening tonight at The Saint. It's one of those eclectic lineups that you'll sometimes run across for a midweek show.

Nashville indie funk / groove band, Koa, are making a stop in Asbury Park. Their live show is supposed to be something special. Joining them will be locals, The Overgrowns, a "special new band" featuring former members of Lightning Jar along with Colton Kayser.

Closing out the night will be Brooklyn band, Gender Studies. Gender Studies are a 4-piece band playing around with those dream pop and shoegaze sounds I always love. I've been listening to their Overslept EP this week, and it's full of the chiming guitars and low in the mix vocals that always grab me.

A chance to catch three bands I've never seen before and take some pictures under the great lighting at The Saint. OK. Twist my arm. Come find me. I'll buy you a root beer.

Wait... ...it looks like, as I was writing this, Asbury Park singer / songwriter Tony Tedesco has been added to the bill.

Doors for tonight's show open at 7:30 and $12 gets you inside.
