Another CMJ, another press / photo pass rejection for your friend, CoolDad. That doesn't matter. I'll still make it to at least a couple of shows. On Friday 10/16, I'll be over at Warsaw for my third or fourth go-round with Titus Andronicus on the #TMLT Around the World tour. Also on that bill will be Spider Bags and Ex Hex.
It's an early start, so I'm hoping things end in time for me to walk the few blocks over to The Gutter to catch our friends Dentist, Black Flamingos, The Battery Electric, Sharkmuffin, Dead Stars, and more at the Friday night Sugar Mama BK / Little Dickman Records Showcase.
And tomorrow, Wednesday 10/14, Sugar Mama and Little Dickman are pairing up for another showcase at Brooklyn's Legion Bar featuring Darkwing, The Off White, Looms, Sun Abduction, and more.
If you can't make it to the shows or you'd just like to study up before you go, your hosts have put together a mixtape for you. On it, you can hear songs from every band hosted at these two showcases. It's a free download via Bandcamp, so there's no excuse for not grabbing it. You'll end up with a great sampler of some New Jersey and NYC / Brooklyn sounds that you'll be hearing a lot more from this year and beyond.
