Grocery Weekend
If, like us, you host Thanksgiving for your entire family every year, then I'll see you at Costco or something over the weekend. We'll have to squeeze in the shopping between swim meets and shows.
On Thursday, 1 week before T-Day, Ziggy Shock comes to Brighton Bar with Kojak Moment. Court Tavern hosts a "musician / band / artist meetup" designed to connect bands and individuals looking to join forces on a project. The Court also has a show featuring Powerlines, Map Of Rome, Time And Distance, Rosedale, and New Politicians. Stuyvesant and Mr. Payday hit DC's in Hoboken. Sammy Kay holds a CD release party at Langosta with Chris Brown.
Des & The Swagmatics funk up APYC on Friday night. Airacuda are at The Chubby Pickle in Highlands with Avery Mandeville and The Mercury Brothers. Nervous Triggers return to where it all started when they play Court Tavern with The Zamborys, RP, Sweet Lucy, and Kid Nichols. Haybaby hold their own record release party at Brooklyn's Shea Stadium with Sharkmuffin, Dances, and Melt. The Wonder Bar has a solid show featuring Philly's St. James & The Apostles, The Cold Seas, Sun Voyager, and Dead Velvet.
Saturday brings Dave Hill and Greg Barris to Anchor's Bend for free stand-up. Yawn Mower and GayGuy / StraightGuy double up at APYC. Sharkmuffin come down to Asbury for a free afternoon in-store at Holdfast. Nothing local about it, but Pallisades in Brooklyn just has a great show featuring Priests, Shopping, and Arm Candy. Dawn Landes and Air Traffic Controller are at The Saint.
On Sunday, our friends in Seaside Caves head up to Montclair's Meatlocker for a show with DejaGravy, Please Exist, MonitoR, and Weird and Wonderful Words. All Time Low are at Starland.
Enjoy this last weekend before the holidays kick into high gear. I'll see you either at the super market or a show.
