What's Going On: 11/5, 11/6, 11/7 & 11/8, 2015

Dentist have a big weekend ahead with two shows and Emily's birthday.

Is It Even Fall?

This weather has been something, huh? Looks like warm temps through tomorrow and then a steady return to normal as we go on. Enjoy it while it lasts. Busy, busy around here with early-morning swim warmups at Princeton on Saturday and Sunday and a loaded schedule of shows starting up right away.

On Thursday night, All Sensory Void hit New Brunswick's Court Tavern with Rose's Devotion, Jean Pool, Suicide Crisis, and The Mums. Someone we all remember around here, Matt Pinfield, presents January Jane, Wyland, and Decibel at Maxwell's Tavern in Hoboken. One of my absolute favorites, Craig Finn of The Hold Steady, brings his solo act to Wonder Bar.

On Friday, Deal's AK-47 hosts The Emily Youth Project, Morningside Lane, Flake, The Ramparts Rebel, and Weak Moon. The Jolly Daggers conduct a raid on APYC with help from Predator Dub Assassins and Finchler. Ruby The Hatchet play next door at Langosta. Montclair's Bern & The Brights hold a release show at Maxwell's Tavern with Christina Alessi and The Toll Collectors and Autumn City. All That Remains and We Came As Romans are at Starland. Jefferson Starship are at the Pony. Wonder Bar's got Juggling Suns. Oh. And it's happy birthday to Dentist's Emily Bornemann.

Puppy Grease are at APYC on Saturday night. The legendary Jonathan Richman returns to Brighton Bar. New Brunswick's In The West has Chris Gethard's "Unpaid Vacation Tour" that also features Jo Firestone, Brett Davis, and many more. Iron Chic, Honah Lee, City Limits, and Goddamnit are at Trenton's Millhill Basement. The Saint has The Joe Krown Trio, The Shady Street Show Band, and Matter Trio. The Story So Far play Starland with Basement, Turnover, and Morningside Lane. Vanilla Fudge are at The Pony. New Brunswick's BoMA has Milkmen, El Americano, and Bone & Marrow.

Also on Saturday, Asbury's Bond St. Bar hosts a free block party. On that bill are gods, Wreaths, Dentist, GayGuy/StraightGuy, Von Mons, and Mark Melicia. It's an all-day affair from 1-8pm.

Lots of our friends have shows on Sunday. Hot Blood and Corrina, Corrina join The Dirty Nil at Brighton Bar. Dentist, Grand Mariner, and Denizens of Soil are at The Saint. Screaming Females play MHOW with Potty Mouth and Aye Nako. dollys and Goodbye Tiger are at New Brunswick's Naner Manor with Weakened Friends and Worried Well.

There's plenty of stuff to keep you busy this weekend. It could be our last dose of real warmth for a while, so get out there. I'm sure I'll see you around.
