For those of you who may like to see the work week out on kind of a jammy, funky note, here's the new single from The Brothers Spaulding. The band have their roots in Hampton, Virginia; but they identify now as, simply, "East Coast." Primarily a duo with Caleb on drums and Will on guitar, the brothers get backing from Will's band The Plank Stompers.
"Not Interested" puts the full-band format to good use, embellishing the fine drum and guitar work with keys and a horn section. The band cite influences as varied as The Grateful Dead and Radiohead; and, in a way, that makes perfect sense. The track is the first from The Brothers Spaulding's upcoming The Ides of March, which is set for release sometime in the spring.
