In Like a Lion
Hey. It's almost March. Spring starts in March. I love spring. I'm starting to feel a slight uptick on the emotions-meter. I think I'll go celebrate by checking out a few shows.
Things get started on Thursday when Deal Casino return from a bit of a hiatus to play a free show at Asbury Park Yacht Club with The Cold Seas and Toy Cars. Black Flamingos will be filling the cavernous Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten with some surf sounds. The Shady Street Show Band hit Red Bank's Downtown for this week's free Funk & Soul Thursday. House of Independents hosts the Coney Island Circus Sideshow & Burlesque Review.
On Friday, Ribeye Brothers and Ba Babes play APYC. Sandy Mack is next door at Langosta. Montclair has two good shows with Archie Alone, Fake Blood, The Subcultures, and Minor 49 playing Meatlocker and Pinegrove, LVL UP, Emperor X, and Long Beard at Old Mogul Theatre. The Rory Kelly Band, Natural Born Losers, and Speed Queen take over Brighton Bar in Long Branch. It's the third installment of Jersey Rock's Winter Beach Crawl series at Paul's Tavern in Lake Como with Vextion, Deaf Rhino, Bobby Mahoney & The Seventh Son, and The Black Clouds. Hey Anna, Overlake, and Girl Town are at Porta JC. Airacuda hold their EP release at The Saint with Cranston Dean, Fiscal Cliff, and Jason Pomeroy. Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes play the first of two nights at The Stone Pony.
Also on Friday, Lost In Society and dollys hold a joint record release upstairs in Convention Hall. Joining them on that bill will be gods, Kyle Trocolla, and Derek Rossi of OC45.
Homeless Apians hold their own release show at APYC on Saturday with is. and Bone & Marrow. SICK SHIT release their EP at The Clinic in New Brunswick with help from YJY, LED PAINT, Sikes, and Dusters. We're Ghosts Now, Cranston Dean, and Jeff Luke play for free at Langosta. The Paramount in Asbury holds a 50th Anniversary Screening of Endless Summer. You can hit the early show at The Saint with Mercury Brothers and Forever Abel and stick around for free bar hangs hosted by Princes of Tides. Teenage Halloween head up to Brooklyn's Silent Barn for a show with Little Waist, CUTTERS, Low Mein, and Cat Tatt. It's Night 2 of Southside Johnny at The Stone Pony.
On Sunday, Flemington DIY hosts Paper Bee, brick mower, Rita Fishbone, and Loone. Wyland, Lowlight, Man Dancing, Wild Americans, and The Carriers play New Brunswick's Scarlet Pub.
