New Video from Hope Sandoval and The Warm Inventions

"Isn't It True"

Hope Sandoval has been producing swoon-worthy dream pop since her work with Mazzy Star. Her turn on Jesus and Mary Chain's "Sometimes Always" is still one of my favorite musical moments. She's worked for several years now as Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions with My Bloody Valentine's Colm Ó Cíosóig. Just this past weekend, the pair released "Isn't It True" as a limited-edition 7" for Record Store Day via their Tendril Tales label. Today, the song gets a video.

With additional instrumentation from Jim Putnam, the song works really well as a soundtrack to those moments when you're sitting alone, thinking about the past. To that end, the video is a montage of memories dedicated to the late Richie Lee of LA band Acetone.

Sandoval's has always been a voice that could instantly make me nostalgic, even when she was just starting out. She hasn't lost any of the ability to work that spell on me.
