Titus Andronicus Announce Live Album of Last Year's TMLT Release Shows

S+@DIUM ROCK: Five Nights at the Opera

Last July, I made my way up to Brooklyn for just one of the five sold-out Titus Andronicus release shows for the band's triple-album punk opera, The Most Lamentable Tragedy, at Shea Stadium. It was a crowded, sweaty, cathartic affair. Patrick Stickles played the first part of the set in a CoolDad Music T-shirt, and the show went on well in excess of two hours. My only regret following such a wonderful evening was that I didn't attend more of the shows. I can only imagine how fans in far off places felt, knowing that this was all happening in a tiny DIY space somewhere in the wilds of Brooklyn far, far away from them. I, at least, got one show.

Today, Titus Andronicus announced that they would serve the poor, unfortunate souls who couldn't make it out to Shea and, at the same time, rekindle some cherished memories among the lucky few who were there. On July 29th, the band and Merge Records will release S+@DIUM ROCK: Five Nights at the Opera, a live recording documenting that week at Shea Stadium last July. The online release will be followed on August 5th by a limited-edition LP.

In conjunction with the album release, Titus Andronicus will also be releasing a full-length concert film online. The first taste of that is available today in the form of a live video for TMLT tracks "I Lost My Mind (+@)" and "Fatal Flaw."

Finally, Titus Andronicus head out on tour with La Sera starting in Washington, DC on May 12th.

The show I attended last year was one of the best times I've ever had; so, to me, this is all pretty cool.
