New Video from The Deafening Colors

"Trump City (Diving Horse's Ghost)"

I have toyed with the idea of making a presidential endorsement for 2016 here at the blog. That's not what I'm about here, though. And anyone who reads regularly or who knows me personally knows what my endorsement would be. In that spirit, I am proud to share this amazing song and video from Atlantic City / Weehawken duo, The Deafening Colors.

John Paul Arthur and Cris Slotoroff are making some of the most engaging and -- for me anyway -- nostalgia-inducing pop coming out of the Garden State right now. "Diving Horse's Ghost" is a standout track from last year's Carousel Season. For their new video, The Deafening Colors renamed the song "Trump City" and spliced footage of an idyllic Jersey Shore together with scenes of recent times in Atlantic City and the presidential campaign.

The Deafening Colors have had a front-row seat to the story of Atlantic City and all of its major players in recent years. To watch one of those characters rise to receive the nomination of one of the two major parties on the supposed strength of his business acumen has to be absolutely surreal to them.

"Trump City (Diving Horse's Ghost)" is a beautiful song and a scathing video. Watch it below.
