New Video from Austin's Tele Novella

"Even Steven"

This is Tele Novella's time of year. The Austin four-piece refer to themselves as "macabre-pop," and their sound, at times, has a bit of a retro-spooky feel that you'd associate with spaghetti westerns or Quentin Tarantino films. Yesterday, the band released a seasonally appropriate video for single "Even Steven." It's a clever, stop-motion, claymation collage created by Amber McCall that features ghosts, spider webs, vampire teeth, and candy corn.

"Even Steven" comes from the band's House of Souls, which came out last month on Yellow Year Records. The album combines some of those darker sounds I just described with a tweeish-ness similar to Belle and Sebastian or Hospitality's self-titled debut. It's worth checking out for sure.

Have a look at the video for "Even Steven" as a spooky taste.
