Dentist play APYC tomorrow with Sonic Avenues and The Steve Adamyk Band |
This will be in tomorrow's listings, but I wanted to call your attention to this show because it falls outside the usual Friday / Saturday festivities over at the APYC / Langosta complex and because you really don't want to miss it if you can make it.
Asbury Park has a thriving and vibrant local music scene, but any scene needs an infusion of something new every now and then. Our friends over at Little Dickman Records have been working hard to bring some new sounds to Asbury Park whenever they can; and, on Thursday, November 3rd, they've got Montreal's Sonic Avenues and Ottawa's The Steve Adamyk Band on a bill with Dentist over at Asbury Park Yacht Club.
Sonic Avenues describe themselves as "loud rock 'n roll;" and their 2016 release, Disconnector, is that and more. The album is 12 songs that run at a breakneck clip, and it features generous doses of post-punk and new wave.
The Steve Adamyk Band's Graceland, also released this year, is an example of loud, frantic garage-power-pop. The record features guest appearances from Colleen Green and Mike Krol and definitely deserves some of your valuable listening time.
Dentist, of course, are Dentist. Like brothers and a sister to us here, and they just happen to have put out one of the best albums of 2016.
Things get started tomorrow night -- Thursday, November 3rd -- at Asbury Park Yacht Club at 9pm. The show is free, so it is an absolutely risk-free way to discover something that I'm honestly sure you're going to love.
