CoolDaughter #1 is at a big swim meet in Rochester. CoolAunt lives up that way; so CoolMom and CoolDaughter #2 went up for some swim spectating / family time, leaving me here all on my own. I'll be living the bachelor life until the wee hours of Sunday morning; and, I gotta say, it's pretty boring.
Anyway...
I can start doig exciting things on Thursday night. Little Dickman Records and I are hosting a free show at Langosta Lounge featuring the tour-hardened and absolutely awesome Fruit & Flowers and Big Bliss along with local favorite Joe P of Deal Casino. Up in Brooklyn, Kissing Is A Crime celebrate the release of their fantastic self-titled album at Cape House along with XHOSA and Whiner. Waxahatchee and Kevin Morby play the first of two sold-out nights at Monty Hall in Jersey City with Mary Lattimore. Overlake are also in JC at Pet Shop with Hengine.
On Friday Night, Maine's Weakened Friends return to Asbury for a show with Deal Casino, The North American, and Well Wisher at Asbury Park Music Foundation. Sharkmuffin celebrate Tarra's and Natalie's birthdays at Brooklyn's Baranquilla with Lost Boy ?, Def.GRLS, Espejismo, and Wild Moon. Emo Night BK comes back to House of Independents in Asbury. Hot Blood head to Trenton to play Millhill with Two Man Advantage, Seeing Snakes, and Dirty Merlin. Waxahatchee and Kevin Morby are back for another sold-out night at Monty Hall, this time with Julie Byrne. The Off White are back from tour and playing Clam House with Brunsquick, Honey, and Dog Date.
Hey Anna are at Mercury Lounge in NYC with Weakened Friends and Nadia Kazmi on Saturday. Wyland release their EP at Rough Trade in Brooklyn with Melodime and Sunbathers. Taylor Tote is at The Asbury.
Sunday is the big benefit at Convention Hall for Dave Franklin featuring H2O, Vision and Friends, Killing Time, Breakdown, Burn, Members of The Bouncing Souls, Members of Lifetime, and lots more. That's followed by an after-party at Wonder Bar with World / Inferno Friendship Society and Hub City Stompers.
Also on Sunday, Jackson Pines, Levy & The Oaks, and Colton Kayser join Rachel Ana Dobken at Danny Clinch's Transparent Gallery. Renee Maskin is at Scarlet Pub in New Brunswick with The Afraid Brigade, Hermano Stereo, Major Player, and Zach Russack.
