This weekend is pretty packed from beginning to end. All of the big, upcoming CoolFamily commitments (travel, Junior Olympic swim meet) happen next week; so I should be able to make it out to lots of stuff. We'll see if I have the stamina.

Things get started on Thursday with an acoustic extravaganza at Brighton Bar featuring Doug Zambon, Johnny Ott, Joey Affatato, Bobby Mahoney, Dan Amato, and Deaglan Howlett. Dentist head to Philly with Earth Telephone, Conversations, and Spenser Colmbs for a show at Kung Fu Necktie. Renee Maskin plays a hometown show at Metuchen's Old Franklin Schoolhouse with Afraid Brigade, Joe Galuppo, and Lance Scott Greene. The Saint throws a birthday bash for both Scott Stamper and Jeff Raspe featuring Waiting For Henry, Accidental Seabirds, Rick Barry, and Arlan Feiles.

On Friday night, The Jolly Daggers are back for a show at APYC with Little Vicious. Lunch Ladies celebrate the release of Down on Sunset Strip at New Brunswick's J House as part of a stacked bill that features Whiner, Spowder, Professor Caveman, and Sunflower. The Vaughns, The Vansaders, and Allied Chemical play Rent Party in Maplewood. JD McPherson is at Roxy & Duke's. Modern Chemistry, ManDancing, Toy Cars, and prim have a show at The Saint. The Stone Pony hosts the rescheduled show with Ruby The Hatchet, Hot Blood, Sammy Kay, and Vanessa Silberman ft. Redd Mullin. Shellshag play Brooklyn's Alphaville as part of a bill with The Funs and Kraus. And you can get your fix of Doors covers at Wonder Bar with Light My Fire.

American Trappist, Joe P of Deal Casino, and Hunter & Wolfe play an afternoon hosted by Rachel Ana Dobken at the Danny Clinch Transparent gallery at The Asbury on Saturday. Teenage Halloween, Secret Mountain, Ghost Camp, and Hiccup are at New Brunswick's Paradise: Lost. The Rock N Roll Hi-Fives are at Clash Bar in Clifton with M.O.T.O., Desir Decir, and Bad Whoremoans. Lunch Ladies take their release celebration on the road when they play Falafull House in Philly with Ellen Siberian-Tiger, Brackish, and Whiner.

Also on Saturday, Burger Revolution V comes to The Saint. It's sponsored locally by Little Dickman Records and serves as Yawn Mower's release show for What's All This New Piss? Also on that bill are gods, Lyons, Stained Glass, and Pamela Flores.

On Sunday, Agent Orange, The Queers, Guttermouth, Atom Age, and School Drugs play House of Independents. Noise in the Attic has Colton Kayser, Modern Chemistry, and Avery Mandeville at The Inkwell in Long Branch. Sunday is also the day for the Asbury Park St. Paddy's Day Parade.
