What's Going On: 7/13, 7/14, 7/15 & 7/16, 2017

Dentist play Porta Asbury Park on Thursday. They freakin' love pizza.

La Fête Nat.

We're just about halfway through the busiest month of the year here at CDMHQ. December doesn't hold a candle to July, what with the cooldaughters' being on two separate swim teams each, summer camp, summer parties, and summer shows. Speaking of summer shows...

You can start things off on Thursday night when American Babies and Holly Bowling play this week's edition of the free Jams on the Sand series. American Trappist are back (since there isn't any rain in the forecast) at APYC. Dentist play for free at Porta National Park. It's the kickoff show for 90.5 The Night's Songwriters on the Beach series in Belmar with Hamish Anderson and Them Vibes. King's X are at The Pony. The Flatliners, Pkew Pkew Pkew, Garrett Dale, and Lost In Society play Wonder Bar.

On Friday, Asbury Park Music Foundation hosts the EP release show for Strange Eclipse that also features The Battery Electric, The Bunks, and The Dead Flowers. Overmind and P-Funk North play APYC. Secretary Legs, Thee Creeps, QWAM, and Color Tongue are in the Bond St. Basement. The Chubby Pickle in Highlands has Leeds, Bobby Mahoney, and Fun While You Wait. Graduation Speech, Brian Mietz, Sammy Kay, and Steve Burks are at Asbury Park Brewery. Looms play The Footlight in Queens with Prima, Alright Gandhi, and Liz Hogg. Langosta has Mad Feather Group and Shady Street Show Band. Yawn Mower head up to Manhattan to play Otto's Shrunken Head with Bikini Carwash (Such a great band name. Right, Mike Chick?). Echo & The Bunnymen hit the Summer Stage with Violent Femmes. The Skullers, Underlined Passages, Of Love, Fairmont, and Matt Cheplic are at Stosh's in Fair Lawn.

It's also pretty damn busy on Saturday when Lyons, Holiday, and Kerbivore play Asbury Park Brewery. Von Mons, The Tide Bends, and Coach N Commando are at APYC. Jolly Daggers, Little Vicious, and Lowlight are in the Basement at Bond St. It's the annual Lucky 7 BBQ in Jersey City with RocknRoll HiFives, Désir Decir, Black Wail, Cicada Radio, and more. Teenage Halloween head up to Montclair's Meatlocker with Secret Mountain and Brook Pridemore. Japanese Breakfast play a free show at Brooklyn's Union Pool with Yohuna. Waxahatchee play Warsaw in Greenpoint with Cayetana and Snail Mail. Volume IV in New Brunswick hosts Shellshag, Erotic Novels, Ellen and The Degenerates, Wild Rice, and Scruff.

On Sunday, it's Out in the Streets Fest in Brooklyn with A Place To Bury Strangers, Tall Juan, Pink Mexico, Grim Streaker, and more. Badfish are at The Pony. Pepperwine play Wonder Bar.

Stay cool. Stay "cool." On Friday, eat some French toast, French fries, or French bread or something.
