What's Going On: 11/16, 11/17, 11/18 & 11/19, 2017

It's finally here! Freaksgiving Weekend. We'll get to that in a second. First, there is plenty of other stuff to mention.

On Thursday night, our friends in Baked play Alphaville in Brooklyn with Casper Skulls and Bueno. The Stanleys, Dave Mooney, Brenyama, and The Anderson Council are at Asbury Park Brewery. The Planes play maybe their last show with The Sharp Shadows, The Regrets, and Shelter Dogs at Cape House. Lost Boy ?, Rats Mouth, and Mean Siders play the Thursdays for a Cause show at Our Wicked Lady. Tyler The Creator sold out Starland Ballroom. The Jesus and Mary Chain are at The Stone Pony.

Asbury Park Brewery hosts Save Face, Holy Pinto, ManDancing, and Grin & Bear on Friday. Also on Friday, Michale Graves returns to Brighton Bar in Long Branch. Dentist head up to NYC for a show at the Delancey with Mïrändä, Above The Moon, and Raina Bee & The Hive. Meatbodies, The Nude Party, and Breanna Barbara play Market Hotel in Brooklyn. Montclair's Meatlocker has Tula Vera Spowder, and Haybaby. You Vandal, The Moms, Feeny, John Mellor's Bastardos, and Oral Support play Trenton's Millhill Basement. Luna are at a sold-out Monty Hall in Jersey City. Hair Magic, The Brixton Riot, Lieder, and The Anderson Council play Roxy & Duke's Roadhouse.

On Saturday, Joe Fletcher returns to Belmar's 10th Avenue Burrito. Makin Waves takes over the whole Langosta / APYC complex with Roots Fest featuring Accidental Seabirds, Jackson Pines, Coach N Commando, Lowlight, and more. Little Silver play Rockwood Music Hall's Stage 3. The Story So Far play a sold-out House of Independents with Turnstile and Drug Church. Colossal Street Jam are at The Saint with Soho Rodeo and Red November. Wetbrain head to Philly for a show at 1fiftyone gallery with Tessellations and Mandala. Starland has night 1 of Circa Survive and Thrice. In the afternoon, Supro hosts a live music showcase at Transparent Clinch featuring Danny Clinch & Friends, Matter, Rachel Ana Dobken Band, and American Trappist.

The big event on Saturday is Freaksgiving: A Friendsgiving Fuzz Fest over at Asbury Park Brewery, brought to you by The Garden State Beard and Mustache Society, Little Dickman Records, and CoolDad Music. The event will serve as the 6th annual Garden State Beard & 'Stache Competition as well as the release show for Speak Into My Good Eye's 24-hour Songwriting Challenge Compilation. Dentist, Yawn Mower, and The RockNRoll HiFives will provide the music. It's The RockNRoll HiFives' 100th show. Johnny Pork Roll & Coffee Truck will be there... umm... umm... umm... I think there will be a raffle and some cool vendors. And it all goes to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and 1-800-273-TALK. It's only $5. Come!!!

While you're recovering from Saturday, you can check out BOYTOY, The Tide Bends, Von Mons, and The Off White at The Saint on Sunday. Also on Sunday, The Story So Far are at House of Independents for a not-yet-sold-out show as far as I can tell. Thrice and Circa Survive are back at Starland. The Asbury Park Record Show returns to The Stone Pony.

Have fun. Come say hi at Freaksgiving on Saturday. Don't drink and drive.
