CDM & GER Joining Forces
This weekend, CoolMom heads off to South America on business; CoolDaughter #2 has her winter championship swim meet; and CoolDad Music joins up with our friends at Good Eye Records to bring you a killer show.
Before we get ahead of ourselves, I do want to let you know that Darkwing are playing Alphaville in Brooklyn with El Silver Cabs, Wolf Diamond, and Plaid Dracula. Waiting On Mongo head up to Arlene's Grocery in NYC for a show with Bushkicks and Karmic Juggernaut. Aaron Carter plays Debonair Music Hall in Teaneck. Freedy Johnston is at Fox & Crow in JC. Signal To Noise NJ hosts a show at Trenton's Millhill Basement featuring WV White, The Barrbarians, and This Kills Me. Phoebe Bridgers comes to Music Hall of Williamsburg with Soccer Mommy. Yawn Mower return to Pet Shop JC for a show with The Components and Diap. Jersey Rock holds a free showcase at Wonder Bar with The Carousers, Roulette, The Ones You Forgot, and Lance Larson. The mighty Screaming Females kick off three sold-out nights at Jersey City's Monty Hall to celebrate the release of All at Once. Joining them for Night 1 will be Teenage Halloween.
But the thing to do, the show all the cool kids will be at, is at The Saint in Asbury Park on Thursday night when CoolDad Music & Good Eye Records bring you Dentist, The Black Clouds, Russian Baths, Baked, and Grace Vonderkuhn. It's a bill that you do not want to miss and you will not soon forget. Come say hey.
While you're still basking in the glow of that show at The Saint, you can head out on Friday for Matt Cook's release show at The Asbury. Also on Friday, Levy & The Oaks, The Vaughns, and Strange Eclipse take over APYC. The Shady Street Show Band play The Chubby Pickle in Highlands. Pig Destroyer are at Crossroads in Garwood. It's Combat Zone Wrestling at House of Independents, and I'm hearing there could be some surprises at that one. Screaming Females, Snakeskin, Monty Hall, Night 2, SOLD OUT. Signal To Noise hosts another fundraiser for WFDU, this time at Pianos in NYC with Scupper, WV White, and Kerbivore. Sharkmuffin and Ex-Girlfriends play Rough Trade in Brooklyn with Scarlet Sails. Tweed are at The Stone Pony with We're Ghosts Now, The Paper Jets, Powerlines, Ruby Bones, and Mirage. Twin Peaks play a sold-out White Eagle Hall during a very busy weekend in Jersey City.
The Burns hit The Asbury on Saturday. Runaway Brother, Halogens, Shark Club, and Hysteria are at Asbury Park Brewery. Cranston Dean and The Mercury Brothers play APYC. The Chubby Pickle has Dave Vargo, Jackson Pines, Arlan Feiles, and The Broken Hearted. Amy Rigby and Lenny Kaye play El Cortez in Brooklyn. Screaming Females, Spowder, Monty Hall, Night 3, SOLD OUT. Pianos has Cyclone Static, Sink Tapes, Tony Saxon, SHRB, and The Components.
On Sunday, H0l0 in Ridgewood, Queens hosts Dead Tenants, Dog Prison, Snakeskin, and Fern Mayo. Meeko Brando, Casy Jost, and Kerbivore are at Pet Shop JC. Shy Boyz and Burt Murder play The Saint. Noise In The Attic is back at The Inkwell in Long Branch with Frog & Fox, My Cruel Summer, Chad Morales, Jimmy Farkas, and Jacob Schneck. New Brunswick's Scarlet Pub has RedHouse/BlueHouse, Galactus Cactus, and Wishy Washy.
