Marching Along
It's been a pretty crazy week here at CDMHQ. CoolDaughter #2 redeemed a tough Saturday with a really strong Sunday showing at last week's Silver / Bronze Championships. Then she woke up super sick on Monday. CoolMom is still jetting around South America, and CoolDaughter #1 is getting ready for her own championship meets. Luckily there are plenty of good shows at which I can unwind.
On Thursday night, Psychiatric Metaphors are in Brooklyn at El Cortez with Trip and Dad. Lost In Society are up there as well at The Kingsland with We Ride On Tin Can Collective, and Dead Jetsetter. The Cryptkeeper 5 play a hometown show at Millhill Basement in Trenton with Jukebox Romantics, Seeing Snakes, and Tim & Dim. Sound an Shape play Pianos in NYC with Mr. Payday, Lenny Zenith, Kenny Buttons, and Binx. The Jersey Rock series of free showcases comes to The Saint with Above The Moon, The Skullers, and Wicked Hollow. BOYTOY and Honduras play Zone One at Elsewhere with Native Sun.
Asbury Park Brewery hosts Sammy Kay, Chris Brown, Matty Carlock, and Chris Skel on Friday. Yawn Mower, TrapBang, and Sunshine Spazz play APYC. High Waisted bring their all-new lineup to Bowery Ballroom with KITTEN, Suburban Living, and Cold Fronts. Dentist hit Asbury's Brickwall Tavern for free. latewaves are up at Brooklyn's Gold Sounds with West Means Home, Night Surf, and PLZ RSPND. Ex-Girlfriends play El Cortez with The Othermen, Big Eyes, and Neva. The Burns celebrate their anniversary at The Saint with The Vaughhns, Like The River, and J.K. Lago. "Battle of the Decades" covers show is at The Pony. Stuyvesant, Sad About Girls, and Mike Daly & The Planets are at Tierney's in Montclair.

Mayan Factor, The Black Clouds, Broke Royals, and Tubefreeks play Brighton Bar in Long Branch. David Byrne brings his American Utopia tour to a sold-out Count Basie in Red Bank. Court Tavern in New Brunswick hosts GayGuy/StraightGuy, Zero For Conduct, Bodega Satellite, and San Tropez. Hot Blood are at Gold Sounds with Third Kind, Pushing Sides, and Total Waste. Millhill Basement has Alpha Rabbit, Mr. Payday, and Sound and Shape. Fruit & Flowers and Lost Boy ? are at Pianos with Ama, Maddy Ruff, and TOLANI. Des & The Swagmatics play Langosta.
On Sunday, Baby Shakes, Big Bliss, and Monograms play the latest free Dr. Martens showcase at Baby's All Right in Brooklyn. Transparent Clinch is back with Brother Andrew, Rose Lees, and Dave Mooney.
