Sea. Hear. Now
Been a crazy and draining few weeks around here, from family stuff to computer problems. I think I've got some of it sorted out; and September is drawing to a close. Maybe that will mean a fresh start.
Anyway...
The Sea. Hear. Now festival comes to Asbury Park this weekend. It's looking like the, physically, biggest thing to hit Asbury since Dave Grohl helicoptered in for Bamboozle. Incubus, Jack Johnson, The Front Bottoms, and faves Nicole Atkins, The Battery Electric, Deal Casino, plus lots more.
Twin Peaks are also on that and play a late show on Saturday with our sweeties in Lowlight. Other stuff this weekend includes a couple of sold-out shows from Alvvays who I absolutely frigging love. LVL UP play their last shows ever in Brooklyn. The National are hosting a festival out at Forest Hills Stadium. The RockNRoll HiFives are back in Jersey for the Hoboken Arts and Music Festival on Sunday. School Drugs do a record release. Out in Queens, there's the very important and worthwhile Flip These Houses benefit. Um, um, um... There's a whole bunch more stuff including the first swim meets of the new season for the cooldaughters.
