New Single / Video from Blushing

"Dream Merchants"

Early last year, I wrote about Weak, the sophomore EP from Austin shoegaze four-piece, Blushing. This week, the band released "Dream Merchants," the second single off of their upcoming, debut LP.

Inspired by a dream that Christina Carmona (bass / vocals) had about a friend who had recently passed away, the song (recorded, produced, and mixed by Ringo Deathstarr's Elliott Frazier) weaves the ethereality of dream pop with the swirling noise of shoegaze. The Jake Soto-directed video offers up images that imply déjà vu and waking dreams.

I haven't been doing as many of these one-off song posts here as I used to, but I dig this one; so here you go...
