Titus Andronicus Share the Pilot Episode for STACKS and Announce a 63 (SIXTY-THREE) Date Tour

Titus Andronicus at House of Independents in November 2018

A Day in the Life of Paddy Stacks

"They're making a dirty fortune
Selling something that's barely working
An inferior version of rock and roll
Or whatever else ever has touched your soul
Call it what you will
There's a billion of them they sold
They're taking credit that they're not earning
Any good thing they ever sold they stole"

That comes about 25 minutes into the pilot episode for STACKS, a new "prestige" situation comedy from Titus Andronicus and director Ray Concepcion. I don't know. Those lines from "Just Like Ringing a Bell" stuck out to me as I sat here looking out from my little Jersey Shore hidey-hole after seven years of doing my version of covering the world of indie music.

Anyway...

The rest of the pilot focuses on a day in the life of Patrick Stickles as he prepares to release his band's next work into the world. Stickles has to deal with the demanding folks at Merge and an indifferent press. He sits for an excruciating interview; he longs to be back onstage; he shows off his rap skills.

In addition to "Just Like Ringing a Bell," we also get the premiere of "Troubleman Unlimited" along with a performance of the previously released "Tumult Around the World." All the songs, like the rest of the upcoming An Obelisk, were produced by Bob Mould.

Tonight at 9pm ET, Stickles will answer questions on YouTube live during "Stacks on STACKS: The Official STACKS After-Show."

An Obelisk is due from Merge Records on June 21st, and Titus Andronicus have announced a 63 (SIXTY-THREE) date tour in support of the record. That tour includes an October 11th stop at Asbury Park Brewery.
