LBI's Gin War Are Heading Out On Tour

Joined By The Traditional

Yesterday, South Jersey trio Gin War announced the upcoming release of their Piece of Moon EP. The set is due from Quiet Fire Media on November 18th. I was able to catch Gin War when they played Brighton Bar a while back, and they have an appealingly dark indie pop sound.

Today, the band are announcing that they'll be touring in November in support of the new EP. The tour will span roughly two weeks and take the band throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast with some incursions into the Midwest. They'll be joined by Buffalo indie / emo band, The Traditional, for the run.

Check out all of Gin War's dates below and keep your eyes on the band's Facebook page for more updates.

Billy Bragg

Billy Bragg Coming to America

His website is currently buckling under the strain as U.S. fans rush to see if his upcoming tour will hit their city, but Billy Bragg is coming to the States.  He'll be at City Winery in New York on July 13th.

The tour coincides with the upcoming release of the Mermaid Avenue: The Complete Sessions box set, covering the work that Bragg and Wilco did setting a group of Woody Guthrie-penned songs to music, later this month.  That set will include remastered versions of the first two Mermaid Avenue albums plus 17 previously unreleased tracks.

According to his Twitter feed, Bragg's concerts will feature a set of Mermaid Avenue songs, followed by a set of Bragg's own work.

CoolMom and I caught Billy during his last stop at City Winery, and I hope we can make it in July.

Tour Dates

Los Campesinos!

The exclamation point is part of their name, but it is exciting that Los Campesinos! have announced 2 weeks' worth of dates stateside for June as part of their tour for last year's Hello Sadness.  Tickets will go on sale starting March 30th.

Dates have been announced for Hoboken (6/21), New York (6/22), and Brooklyn (6/23).  I'll be doing my best to attend one of those shows.  This will likely be one of the rare events for which I'm joined by CoolMom as we've both been fans of the English/Welsh pop collective for years.

See their announcement here.
