New Single From England’s Tremendous

"Open for Closing"

By Henry Lipput

The first time I heard a song by the Birmingham, England-based band Tremendous, it was last year's single "Rock n' Roll Satellite." I thought they sounded like what would have happened if, after Raspberries broke up, instead of starting a solo career, Eric Carmen moved to London and joined a glam rock band.

Although Eric Carmen had nothing to do with glam rock, Tremendous, led by Mark Dudzinski is a group heavily influenced by T.Rex, David Bowie, and the '70s glam rock scene. That's him in the photo sporting a very cool Marc Bolan look.

The band's new single, "Open For Closing," is not only a rocking glam fest but also has a chorus that works as the kind of earwig you'd be happy to welcome into your cranium. There are also crunching guitars and a rhythm section that works overtime. The trio that is Tremendous give the Spiders From Mars a run for their money.

The band's debut album, Relentless, is scheduled for a September release. And, oh yeah, Tremendous have added the Raspberries' tune "Play On" to their set list.

"Open For Closing" is out now and available from your favorite digital vendor.
