New Brunswick record label, Don Giovanni Records, who just so happens to have put out some of my favorite records over the last two years -- Did I say some? I meant "most of my favorite records over the last two years" (see: Screaming Females, California X, Hilly Eye, Waxahatchee, Shellshag, Modern Hut, Laura Stevenson, Black Wine, Upset, Worriers,...) -- has taken to Ebay to raise some funds for "a really crazy 2014 release schedule."
Up for bid are test pressings of almost all of the label's recent releases along with a load of original Marissa Paternoster artworks, including some original drawings from her recent book, My Body Is a Prison / My Mind Is a Disease. Some of the funds raised will also benefit Paternoster directly, so this is an opportunity to support a great label as well as a great musical / visual artist.
I'd love to see Don Giovanni build on what was a stellar 2013, so I'll echo their exhortation to "bid hard."
