Pics of Hot Blood (and Friends) at The Wonder Bar, 7/14/14

Happy Monday

I looked at my calendar this week and noticed that there are seven straight days of shows I'd like to maybe see. That got me thinking that it might be funny to do a series here about what happens to me as I attend shows for seven straight nights, but this morning I'm already starting to feel like Tuesday may be a scratch. We'll see.

I started strong last night, though, as I headed over to The Wonder Bar for a Happy Monday that featured Hot Blood, The Mischief Kids, and Acid. Doug Zambon of The Vansaders was a surprise opener. He and his band will be opening for Lucero at The Stone Pony next Tuesday.

Speaking of The Stone Pony, there was what felt like a pretty large contingent of Stone Pony security at The Wonder Bar last night. Things stayed pretty well under control, though the guys all looked kind of uncomfortable when the entire place got onstage with Hot Blood for "Class Warfare."

Anyway, I took a bunch of pics. Hot Blood are one of my favorite acts to shoot, and I don't have that much experience taking pictures at The Wonder Bar. Turns out The Wonder Bar comes somewhere between The Saint and Asbury Lanes as far as lighting goes. I had to push the ISO a little bit at times, but I think I got some good ones.

Here are some highlights of Hot Blood. The full set is at Flickr, and photos from the rest of the night are coming later.
