Titus Andronicus Release New Single, Announce 7-inch Subscription Service, Playing Shea Stadium on 7/7/14

I'm ashamed and embarrassed that I didn't know it was a robot performing at Asbury Lanes on May 24th.

#SEVENSEVENINCHES

In a nearly two-hour online press conference yesterday, Titus Andronicus frontman Patrick Stickles explained the reasons behind his recent incarceration in a mental institution, how we all saw him "on the loose" and playing shows during this time (robot!), and how (well, not exactly "how") he ultimately escaped to regain control of Titus Andronicus, LLC.

Stickles also explained the significance and power of the number seven and announced a singles subscription service consisting of seven, new Titus Andronicus 7-inches. The new collection will increase the existing number of Titus Andronicus 7-inches from seven to fourteen. Not coincidentally, the first release in the new series will happen on 7/7/14. It's a double release that includes a re-mastered version of the first TA 7-inch, "Titus Andronicus" b/w "Fear and Loathing in Mahwah, NJ." The second disc in the package will contain "Arms Against Atrophy" b/w "Talking Oral Fixation Blues."

The first new material in the series will be a split with Wicked Kind, the new band featuring Titus Andronicus rhythm section Eric Harm and Julian Varonesi. "Stranded (On My Own)" by Titus Andronicus b/w "Sport" / "Piece of the Pie" by Wicked Kind comes out 8/25/14, seven weeks after 7/7/14, and will be followed every seven weeks thereafter by an additional split single, featuring another band, until the total number of new 7-inches has reached seven.

Titus Andronicus will celebrate the new releases with a release show at Shea Stadium on 7/7/14 with Wicked Kind. Ticket buyers get a free copy of the first release with admission to the show.

...and that's not all. Titus Andronicus also made "Stranded (On My Own)," "Piece of th Pie," and "Sport" available via Soundcloud and uploaded a new video for "Talking Oral Fixation Blues."

You can check all of this stuff out over at titusandronicus.net. You can subscribe, buy tickets, etc. at the band's online store.

I think that's it, but you can watch the press conference just to make sure I didn't miss anything.
