Big Mouth Strikes Again

So much to discuss this week. Thursday is unusually packed and includes the relocation of Gentleman Jim Norton's Thursday Night Trivia to Molly Maguire's in Rumson, a "family style restaurant" perfect for "a burger and a beer" and Thursday Night Trivia's closest location yet to CoolDad Music HQ. May be checking that out with CoolMom tonight.

There are tons of other things on Thursday, though, too. Antarctigo Vespucci, side project of Jeff Rosenstock of Bomb The Music Industry! and Chris Farren of Fake Problems, come to Asbury Lanes. Pat DiNizio continues confessing for free at Langosta, this time with help from Chris Brown. The Saint has an acoustic evening with Pete Molinari, Ron Santee, Paul Rosevear, and Tony Tedesco. Little Dickman Records bring Black Flamingos, Groundskeeper, and Tour de Force to 610 Bangs.

Friday brings Supersuckers back to the area with a show at The Brighton. The fantastic Beach Slang are at Trenton's Mill Hill Saloon with Iron Chic and Address. 610 Bangs hosts Asbury Acoustic Punk Night with Doug Zambon, Chris Skel, T. Gunn, Those Corn People, Teenage Halloween, and Steve Burks. Hot Blood are shooting their first official video at Red Bank Rehearsal. You're all invited.

Also on Friday, former Smiths / The The / Modest Mouse / The Cribs / Billy Bragg guitarist and inventor of indie rock, Johnny Marr, brings his solo act to The Stone Pony. I caught him when he was at Irving Plaza last year; and it is a great show, especially for Smiths fans.

On Saturday night, Glycerine Queens play for free at APYC with Bone & Marrow annd Tympanic Plexus. Roulette headline a show at The Brighton with We Are Ghosts Now, Leeds, Modern Suits, and True Friends & Dead Ends. The Battery Electric are back at Lot 13 in Bayonne. This time, they play with Hot Blood, Queen V, and Sunshine and The Rain to celebrate the first anniversary of the great and local Outer Limits Hot Sauce. The PussyPad in New Brunswick (Ask a punk.) hosts Books., Area IVI, Lake Effect, The Bell Cooks, and current CDM faves ROMP. Should be tight.

Aftermath Collective bring Puddle Splasher and Aspiga to Court Tavern on Sunday. Also on Sunday, Musicians on a Mission host their annual celebration at the Monmouth Beach Cultural Center with performances by Emily Grove, EdTang and The Chops, Cranston Dean, and more.

Enjoy yourself this weekend, and remember: Don't Panic. Even if you're Still Ill and you keep asking yourself, "How Soon Is Now?" There Is a Light That Never Goes Out.
