Free Mixtape from Titus Andronicus

Mixtape Volume 2A: Sorry About The Delay

I was on a business trip in Barcelona a couple of years ago when Titus Andronicus released Titus Andronicus LLC Mixtape Vol. 1. It was up on the Internet. Then it was gone. Then it was back up again, and it eventually ended up in my iTunes library.

Early this morning Titus Andronicus released Mixtape Volume 2A: Sorry About The Delay. The collection's title refers to the fact that Patrick Stickles, at one point, promised a November 2014 release for the band's fourth LP. It's free to stream and download at TitusAndronicus.net.

It's a collection of demos and rehearsals of several tracks from the band's upcoming 29-song The Most Lamentable Tragedy, which is due on 7/28 via Merge. The mixtape includes the "world premieres" of TMLT tracks "Stranded (On My Own)" and "Come On, Siobhan." The band did release a version of "Stranded (On My Own)" when they announced their #SEVENSEVENINCHES singles subscription last year, but the version here is labeled "Mixtape Mix."

The set also includes a 25 and a half minute study of what would eventually become single "Dimed Out" and closes with 28 minutes of noise called "Really Sorry About The Delay."

If you'd like something to hold you over until the next official release from Titus Andronicus, head over to their website and grab this. It's already in my library.
