New Video from Smalltalk

"June / July"

When Neptune City's Smalltalk started out, they had the idea that they might be a "video band," producing videos for each of their songs. That was a pretty ambitious plan, obviously, especially with responsibilities like other bands, motherhood, and impending fatherhood thrown into the mix. Smalltalk settled for releasing excellent EP after excellent EP and throwing in a few videos here and there.

Things have so far culminated in what may be Smalltalk's best EP, IV. Today we get the video for standout and single "June / July."

The song features all the retro-inspired melodrama we've come to love about Smalltalk around here. The video adds to that by placing the band in the middle of an electrical storm and downpour. In that sense, I guess, the timing of the video release couldn't be more perfect for us here in the Northeast as we await this weekend's soggy comeuppance for a relatively rain-free summer.

Who knew that Smalltalk's carefully crafted marketing and branding strategy even took the weather into account?

Pros.

Anyway, here's the video. Enjoy.
