Interview: Justin & Emily of Dentist

Dentist Goes South

As I mentioned earlier, the South By Southwest music festival is fast approaching. One of the local bands making their way down to Austin for all of the craziness is Dentist. The foursome of Justin Bornemann, Emily Bornemann, Rudy Meier, and Nick Kaelblein are hopping into a van and heading south for their first big tour.

On Monday night, I ran into Justin and Emily; and, being the kind of guy who travels around with video and audio equipment in his van, I decided to have a little sit down with them before they hit the road. Our wide-ranging and mostly coherent discussion touched on how the band's approach to their second LP (due out on Little Dickman Records in June) differed from their first, the disputed origins of their name, and Cracker Barrel.

Dentist officially leave for tour today, Thursday, March 10th, and play Philadelphia's Bourbon & Branch with Thief, Steal Me A Peach, CaveWomen, and The Bigness. Watch my interview with them below and check out the rest of their tour dates. Make it a point to check them out live if you can make it to any of their stops.
