Been Listening to this Song by Queens-based Dead Waves

"4 to 5"

Here's one I came across today that I keep coming back to. Queens trio, Dead Waves, released the first single from their upcoming Living Inside. Produced by Martin Bisi (Swans, Sonic Youth), the song is definitely an experiment in droning noise. And I love that stuff.

The song premiered at Stereogum, and they described it with phrases like "deranged, psychedelic territory" and "nightmarish dreamscape." What really attracts me to this one, though, is that it sounds almost like a New Order song played at about 1/4 speed. Can you hear what I mean?

Anyway.

Living Inside is out 6/1, and I'm gonna keep an eye out for it.
