Summer Daze

July will eventually be over, and swim teams and junior lifeguards and most of my driving responsibilities will end with it. For a month. I'll still find time to squeeze in some shows between now and the end of the month, though, starting with this weekend.

On Thursday, Anchor's Bend continue their Jams on the Sand series with Wolf! and members of Enjoy! Have A Good Season are at Brighton Bar with Golden Age, 18th and Addison, Nominee, and Rich People. White Denim and gods play The Stone Pony. It's another night of Yacht Rock jams spinning at Wonder Bar.

Lost In Society play APYC on Friday with Hero Jr. Corrina, Corrina, Have A Good Season, Fortune Yeller, Dad Party and The Great War play a house show somewere in Holmdel. The Vaughns are at Crossroads in Garwood with Afraid Brigade, The Company Kept, and Pep Rally. House of Independents hosts an SPCA benefit featuring Quincy Mumford and The Reason Why, Lyons, Wyland, and Garden State Line. Plato Zorba are at Langosta. Mikey Erg brings his solo tour to Trenton's Millhill Basement. The Fleshtones play Jersey City's Monty Hall with Dirty Fences, The Paul Collins Beat, and Big Huge.

On Saturday, Toy Cars, Fire Is Motion, Sammy Trombone, The Planet You, and ManDancing are at Montclair's 73 See Gallery. Holy White Hounds come to House of Independents with Deal Casino, The Vansaders, and Crazy & The Brains. Lowlight play for free at Langosta with Thee Idea Men. Hot Blood, Execütors, SICK SHIT, and Suspect are at The Saint. Stone Pony Summer Stage has Sugar Ray, Everclear, Lit, and Sponge.

Deal Casino are at APYC on Sunday. Roxy & Dukes hosts a fundraiser to help defray the medical costs of good friend to the music scene, Melissa OC. That one features The Battery Electric, Hot Blood, Honah Lee, and lots more. Marianas Trench play The Stone Pony.

I joke about wishing for July to end. I want the summer to last as long as possible. Go make the most of it somewhere this weekend. If you see me, come say hi.
