Clifton, NJ's Ken De Poto has spent the last few years honing his craft with bands like They Had Faces Then, France, and The Brixtons. For his upcoming Bad Man, due from Sniffling Indie Kids on September 2nd, De Poto has gone totally solo. In a display of self-sufficiency, De Poto played and recorded every instrument on the eight-song Bad Man, turning to Max Rauch at Factory Studios to help with the final touches. Today we get the first taste of De Poto's new-found independence in the form of "Devil Made Me Do It."
De Poto has called Bad Man a reflection on the past several years of his life and how those years have brought him to the place he's in today. "Devil Made Me Do It" is a short rocker. It's about the surprise and guilt that can come with finding out exactly what you're capable of doing. "Let me burn in flames!"
Whatever De Poto is referencing in the song, it sounds like -- on a more positive note -- he's also found that he's capable of producing some great music all by himself. Check out "Devil Made Me Do It," and look for Bad Man on September 2nd.
