Spring Semester
It was always kind of a tease to me that the spring semester started in the dead of winter; but, you've gotta admit, this winter hasn't been too bad yet. I mean, take out that snowstorm and last week's Nor'Easter; and it's been positively bearable. Well, there's been a lot that's been unbearable this winter; but we'll save that discussion for another day.
You can take a break from all your studies starting on Thursday night with The Asbury Hotel's open mic. Dark Blue and No Parole play a Thursday night free show at APYC. Next door at Langosta, Joe P of Deal Casino continues his residency with help from Colton Kayser. It's another "Hear Me Roar" show at The Saint. This one features Fortune Yeller, Andrea Morgan, Jane, and Little Vicious.
The Asbury has The Porchistas, Jesse Lee from Accidental Seabirds, and Venus Envy on Saturday. The Battery Electric, The Vansaders, Little Vicious and Wicked Hollow play The Firehouse in Oceanport. Honah Lee are at Trenton's Millhill Basement with Nashville's Sound & Shape, and From The Archives. Dinosaur Eyelids, Casino Sundae, Tango Machina, and The Turnbucklers are at The Saint. Circa Survive play a sold-out Starland.
On Sunday, Sad Lips, A Day Without Love, Above The Moon, and Sound & Shape play Scarlet Pub. The Joshua Fink book release party happens at The Saint with music from Puppy Grease, Bourbon Spills, Matt Fisher, and Manda Morris & Friends.
There are also a bunch of cover / tribute acts this weekend. Great weekend for that if that's your thing, I guess.
